"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." -Gandhi
Enjoy living in the moment but remember that learning English will prepare you for the future.
I am Annallisa B. Amoncio but you can call me ''Liz''. I am from Davao City, where is often called as the "City of Durian". I graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in General Education. I decided to major this course way back in second year of high school. I really like teaching because when I teach, I can learn at the same time. That's the advantage of being a teacher. Teachers can learn twice - learn while studying and then learn from students. After I graduated, I immediately took the Licensure Examination for Teachers and by God's grace, I passed. I also experienced teaching elementary students for two years. I was a grade six adviser, handling mathematics classes for the graders 2-6. In the following year, I was a grade 2 adviser teaching different subjects. That two consecutive years made my life memorable. I had fun teaching them and it was a great accomplishment to see my students improving because of me. Teaching in an offline ESL brought me into a new environment, where I could teach and meet various learners from non-English speaking countries. Specifically, I experienced teaching junior high school students from Japan. At first, they were so shy but as time went by, they could participate and enjoy in our class well. I also had a chance of teaching adults wherein I could learn different things from them. Students who were studying IELTS and TOEIC led me to learn new things in teaching ESL. I was so glad and proud of my students when they received their band scores and said, "Thank you, teacher, because of you I can study in Canada now." Those words were enough to prove myself that "I am a teacher". We are keeping in touch. I'm so honored and happy because I had a chance to meet new friends from other countries. Though online teaching is quite different from the experience I had but maybe the relationship we can built will not be far from the typical one.
I am fond of watching Korean and Japanese dramas and Hollywood romantic movies. listening to music, reading romantic novels and traveling. In terms of cooking, I'm totally not good so I really want to learn it. The problem is I haven't experienced cooking by myself. I do believe that "Experience is the best teacher'' and everything in this world can be taught. Just like learning English, ''Don't be afraid to experience new things." It's really hard at the beginning but it will get easier without noticing.
